Here we are at the last day of 2011, and the final day, in broad chronological terms, of the official Franz Liszt bicentenary celebrations. "And not before time," many have commented. A critic in a specialist trade magazine recently fired a vituperative missile saying, more or less: "Thank God we're at the end of this year; no longer will we have to listen to this stuff."
