You may not be aware of it, but next week is a big one for the medal world.
For the first time, the FIDEM Art Medal Congress, a biennial beauty contest and a meeting place for experts on the subject, will take place in Scotland. The venue is the University of Glasgow and, from Tuesday, delegates from more than 40 countries will be talking about medal art. In its wake, the congress will feature a show, Modern Medals, featuring a small army of artworks from all corners of the globe, which will go on display in the Hunterian Museum's Kelvin Gallery after the conference ends.
