City heavyweights join the board of rail and bus firm

ABERDEEN-based rail and bus company FirstGroup, which has come under pressure to replace long-standing chairman Martin Gilbert, has appointed City heavyweights from both sides of the Atlantic to its board.

Brian Wallace, a former Edinburgh Royal High School pupil, was until recently finance director of gambling firm Ladbrokes and has served as a non-executive for brewer Scottish & Newcastle and Edinburgh-based builder Miller Group in the past.
