RAINCOAT manufacturer Mackintosh has seen profits surge 84.8% to £697,000, but warned that production of its signature rubberised coats is likely to continue to fall.
The company, which manufactures its products in Cumbernauld, said turnover for the year to the end of March 2012 rose 29.8% to £7 million.
Mackintosh was bought by Japan-based Yagi Tsusho in 2007, which increased its stake from 90.3% to 100% in March.
