STANDARD & Poor's has signalled FirstGroup could see its credit rating cut to junk status.
The ratings agency downgraded its outlook on the transport company from stable to negative in the wake of the Aberdeen business securing the West Coast rail franchise.
S&P said it felt credit metrics may not recover to a level expected of First's BBB- rating, considered the lowest investment grade by the market, in the next two years.
