TROUBLED retailer JJB Sports, which has exclusive rights to sell Rangers Football Club merchandise, saw its shares soar 37.5% after an improvement in sales over Christmas.
The company, which has 195 stores, said like-for-like sales increased 5% in the four weeks to Boxing Day.
The performance received a mixed reaction in the City.
Philip Dorgan, analyst at Panmure Gordon, said: "JJB is making decent progress in very difficult markets."
