A LAW firm which specialises in human rights, asylum seeker and immigration cases has secured bank funding to move to a larger office.

Latta Law, which trades as Latta & Co Solicitors, has outgrown its site on Cadogan Street in Glasgow and moved to premises on Sauchiehall Street. The firm was only set up in 2012 by Fraser Latta, formerly a partner at Hamilton Burns, and started out with three staff.

Now it employs 23 people, including 12 lawyers, and has around 2,000 clients.

Mr Latta believes the bigger office gives scope for the firm to continue growing in the coming years.

He said: "We have built up a highly experienced team spanning a range of legal disciplines and the new office will provide us with the capacity we need to add to our staff as we require."

Mr Latta said the firm has seen the most growth from family, general civil, human rights and immigration law.

The loan to buy the office was made by Bank of Scotland while accountancy firm Robb Ferguson also worked on the deal.

Bank of Scotland's Brian Bovell said: "Latta Law has undergone an exceptional period of growth and we hope to see this continue as it invests in its infrastructure and prepares for expansion."
