THE chairman of i-design said the Scottish cash machine technology specialist had good prospects after the company moved into the black in the first half amid challenging economic conditions.

Jim Faulds said the Dundee-based company was in talks with prospective and existing customers at home and overseas, after winning some big contracts in recent months.

The directors believe i-design's technology, which allows organisations to run adverts on cash machines, is a compelling proposition for firms like banks, which are trying to boost returns. They have been encouraged by signs that the technology has been winning a growing following. The company said revenues rose by 13%, to £1.6 million in the six months to March 31, from £1.4m in the same period last year.
