SHARES in retailer JJB Sports plunged 26.4% after the company, which has exclusive rights to distribute Rangers Football Club merchandise, showed little sign of benefiting from a sport-packed summer schedule.

JJB said that like-for-like sales for the 22 weeks to July 1 were 8% down on last year, even though it was expected to receive a sales boost from events such as the Euro 2012 football championship.
