SCOTTISH company Dawn Group will implement an "orderly closure" of its general construction division with the loss of about 60 jobs, and focus in future on housebuilding and property development.
The "regrettable but responsible" move to close the Prestwick-based general construction unit, revealed by Dawn Group founder, chairman and major shareholder Alan Macdonald, will cut the company's workforce from 130 to about 70.
Dawn Group is emphasising that all areas are in the black. And in April it expects to reveal a doubling of pre-tax profits to more than £5 million in the year to January 31, 2012, on turnover of about £105m.
