JOHNSTON Press has proposed a reorganisation of its share capital to reduce the number of shares in issue.

The publisher of The Scotsman said the move, which will consolidate every 50 of its ordinary shares into one new ordinary one, will result in a price that directors believe is more appropriate for the company's size. The reorganisation has been structured to retain the nominal value of one penny per new ordinary share.
