SHARES in Flybe slumped 15% after the airline cut its revenue target on the back of weak demand and high oil prices but expansion plans, including new routes from Edinburgh and Glasgow, remain on track.

Jim French, the Scot who runs the Exeter-based airline, said: "We remain cautious over the outlook and do not expect a material recovery in either consumer or business confidence in the short term.

"We therefore remain focused on executing our comprehensive action plan to both grow the business while mitigating cost pressures."
