Fair Day Sale at Ayr sees store heifers average £810

craig Wilson sold 386 store heifers at their Fair Day Sale at Ayr on Thursday to a top of £1190 per head and 386.9p per kg to average £810.38 (+£144.29 on the year) or 218.1p, while 545 store beef-bullocks peaked at £1400 and 264.1p to level at £883.13 (+£150) or 227.7p.

There were also 111 store B&W bullocks that averaged £730.04 (+£143) and 176.7p.

John Swan had 802 store cattle forward at its first April sale in St Boswells on Thursday when heifers sold to £1270 and 261.9p to average £909.71 (+£235.86 on the year) or 221.2p, while bullocks peaked at £1430 and 287.7p to level at £953.44 (+£264.96) or 227.9p.
