It goes without saying this has been the most difficult and frustrating year I can remember for getting summer work done on the farm.

Silage making has been slow, with some just finished making their first cut, and most is of poor quality.

Shearing was a case of gathering up the sheep when they were dry and getting them under cover before it rained again – and haymaking in Scotland has been negligible.
