Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 225 store heifers at Ayr on Thursday to a top of £1215 per head and 246.7p per kg to average £876.53 and 219.8p (-8.6p on the previous sale), while 221 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at £1230 and 309.8p to level at £911.67 and 229,6p (-8.2p).
Fifty-four store, B&W bullocks sold to £940 and 196.6p to average £790.28 and 164.5p (-5.6p).
The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart sold 4436 prime hoggs in Longtown on Thursday to a top of £100 per head and 196p per kg to average 160.7p (-20.3p), while 299 prime lambs peaked at £100 and 211p to level at 179.4p (-15.6p).
The firm also had 3467 cast sheep forward when heavy ewes sold to £154 for Texels and averaged £92.61 (-£10.13), while light ewes peaked at £88 for Lleyns and levelled at £54.96 (-£11.52). Rams sold to £174 for a Texel and averaged £116 (+25p).
