Seven prime, B&W bullocks sold to 156.5p and averaged 204.5p (-8.1p).

In the rough ring 16 beef cows averaged 124p (-8p) and 21 dairy cows levelled at 98p (+11p). Six OTM cattle averaged 107p.

The firm also sold 3272 prime hoggs to a top of £114.50 per head and 250p per kg to average 215.5p (+5.3p), while 5 new-season, prime lambs levelled at 239.4p.

The 488 cast sheep forward saw ewes sell to £149.50 for Texels and £87.50 for Blackfaces to average £79.74 overall (+£6.82).

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 19 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of 239p and an average of 212.6p (-9.3p), while 11 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 222p and levelled at 194.2p (-7.5p). Two prime, B&W bullocks averaged 144.4p.

In the rough ring 35 beef cows averaged 126.8p (+1p) and 116 dairy cows levelled at 106.9p (+1p). Fifteen OTM cattle averaged 153.4p (-11.5p) and 6 bulls levelled at 118.2p (+7.4p).

Wallets Marts sold 426 prime hoggs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £105 and 244.2p to average 211.2p (+13.1p).

The 172 cast sheep forward sold to £105 for a Texel ram, while ewes peaked at £102 for Texels and £81.50 for Blackfaces with the overall average levelling at £71.32 (+£10.92).

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 102 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 255.1p and an average of 202.5p (-12.9p), while 88 store bullocks peaked at 256p and levelled at 187.7p (-32.3p).
