CRAIG Wilson sold 1389 prime lambs in Newton Stewart on Wednesday to a top of £94 per head and 218p per kg to average 188p (-2.2p on the week).
A smaller show of 135 cast ewes sold to £95 for Texels and £50 for Blackfaces.
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart had 25 prime cattle forward in Dumfries on Wednesday when bullocks sold to 220.5p per kg and averaged 207.8p, while heifers peaked at 225.5p and levelled at 201.4p. Four young bulls averaged 165.7p.
