NEW car registrations in Scotland have risen 9.3% year-on-year in June to 16,694, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
That meant sales for the first half of 2012 are 5.3% ahead at 86,831 as the Scottish sector continues to outperform the rest of the UK market.
Across the UK, June sales increased 3.5% to 189,514 with a rise in private car sales offsetting lower figures for fleet and business vehicles.
