Fewer start-ups helped by Business Gateway

BUSINESS Gateway has seen the number of companies it has helped to form falling slightly from the record high of the previous year.

The enterprise body said 11,027 businesses were founded with its assistance in the 12 months to March 2012.

That was a decline of 1.9% from the 11,242 recorded in the prior period but still the second highest since the agency was formed in 2003.
