THE Coalition Government is failing to rebalance the economy to make it less dependent on financial services according to the Trades Union Congress, which said ministers must do more to encourage the growth of other industries across the country.

Almost 18 months after the Chancellor George Osborne said Britain would be "borne aloft by the march of the makers", the TUC has published a report in which it accuses the Government of not doing enough to tackle the imbalances that helped cause the economic crash in 2008.
