Agenda is unsure why this sector has such a low profile. After all, Scotland has 450 different franchising brands, delivered through 2400 locally-owned franchisees, providing 36,000 stable jobs and £800 million in revenue.
Last week's wake-up event featured an inspirational keynote speech by Olympic medallist Roger Black MBE. He was well supported by Scots franchise heroes David Weir of Energie Gyms and Hugh Davidson of infant swimming school network Water Babies, sharing insights into the dos and don'ts of successful franchising.
