Peter Gyllenhammar, the activist investor with a penchant for Scottish minnows, looks like taking some rare punishment with his stake in shrunken cashmere group Dawson International.

The Swede, who has crept up on technology hopefuls Aortech and NMT, Murray Financial Corporation, and more recently ATH Resources, and usually turned a quickish profit, has met his match – in Dawson's pension fund.
