RICHARD Pennycook, finance director of supermarket chain Wm Morrison, is to step down next summer after staying long enough to qualify for a controversial £1.25 million retention award granted last year.
Mr Pennycook has worked for the Bradford-based grocer since 2005.
However, when chief executive Marc Bolland left for Marks & Spencer in 2010 he lost out in the race for the top job to Dalton Philips, chief operating officer of Canadian chain Loblaw.
