'I don't think now is best time to return'

Kevin Gallagher left Scotland to work in Taiwan for two years – and is still there 22 years later.

He says: "There is no great debt in the system to be worked out here, which I think has added to the sense of UK insecurity.

"Unemployment hovers at around 5% which is considered high. Stock markets are regulated to a daily upper and lower threshold of 7%.
