I'm Cat. I'm an Aussie Health Coach and Writer living in Glasgow who is overly excited about eating well and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I'm a travel-obsessed-dog-loving-yogi whose ability to fall over standing still trumps my basic motor skills. I also have an obsession with honey. Honey is my kryptonite. But enough about me for now.

My goal is to help encourage you to incorporate simple tips, recipes, and strategies in to your daily life in order to allow you to live a more active and healthy lifestyle. You might be thinking I don't really care/is this something I truly need or even want to hear about? If you have children, loved ones, friends, or are a human that wants to live a healthier life in a more simplified manner then hear me out. The harsh reality is this: we are living in a world where we are fatter, sicker, and dying from certain diseases and illnesses that could be prevented or managed by some lifestyle and food adjustments. Moreover, the "food" like products we so often see lining the supermarkets and a large majority or restaurants and takeaways are loaded with artificial colours, flavours, sugars, sweeteners, chemicals and preservatives - which lets be honest, we all know aren't good for us, and since your body is your best and only true possession it's only fair that you look after it as best you can.

So why might you take any advice from this slightly (ok definitely) health obsessed Aussie? Well I have a few credentials that may allow me to help you, but, above being a Holistic Health Coach, Personal Trainer, and former Psychologist, I have personal experience in this wildly wonderful world of weight loss and healthy living.

I could have out done most of you at a buffet or deep-fried-anything eating competition without actually trying. Which inevitably meant I also have had the trouble of having too much belly fat in the way of me seeing my toes whilst standing. I've got stretch marks in places I didn't even know you could get stretch marks. I also know the struggles and sadness of walking down the street and being stared at or mocked. I've had the internal dialogue that constantly beats you up telling you that you are never going to be good enough, for yourself or for anybody else, simply because of the way your body looks. I've used food as medicine to self-medicate myself to a very unhealthy state of obesity whilst battling depression, and I have also used food to heal myself and lose 120 pounds. It's clear what sort of food was used on each of these journeys.

I've tried (and failed) on countless diets, pills, and restrictive lifestyles all to reach the same endpoint: frustrated, angry, and still obese. The reality is that the crash diets and super fixes we see glammed up in the media don't work long term, plus they make you a rotten pain in the butt when you're punishing yourself (and your bank account) on them. Because of this I learnt that in order to lose weight and lead a happy and healthy lifestyle, when it comes to food and exercise, balance and individuality are key factors.

I believe in being real and simple when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. I won't lie to you and tell you how delicious spirulina or wheatgrass taste, but I will introduce you to what these things are and why they are good for you - plus handy tips to get around the taste. I'll also introduce you to fun things like raw desserts, superfoods, raw chocolate, and meals that you can make that are much quicker (as well as tastier and healthier) than ordering in a takeaway. Eating well shouldn't be confusing, time consuming, or something that comes with a lengthy instruction manual and set of rules. So this is the aim - I so very much look forward to sharing some things to make your journey to health and wellness a much tastier and enjoyable one.

Keep an eye on this space.

Peace and Love,

Cat x
