WOMEN stand accused of being a bit "namby" about talking about money.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, Superwoman author Shirley Conran described the subject as "almost the last taboo". Recently, she said, she's been asking women whether they would like to "suddenly find they had a huge amount of money". And mostly they have replied that they would like "just a little bit more". Conran is perplexed by this. Why didn't they want loads more? It seems, she says, to be "OK to have it if your husband has lots of it. But one can't say 'I intend to make lots of money'."
