Visiting A&E is never a happy experience.
Those who attend our casualty departments each day, whether with injured limbs, chest pains, burns or any number of other ailments, are often anxious and vulnerable.
So when someone attending A&E at night is still slumped in an uncomfortable plastic chair the following morning, waiting to be seen, questions must be asked about whether the system is functioning as it should.
