But it still doesn't halt the friendliness of Glaswegians. Charles Fletcher in Edinburgh tells us about a colleague caught in a deluge in Glasgow who sheltered under a newsagent's awning, alongside said newsagent.
Says Charles: "'Do you mind if I stop a moment?' asked my pal. 'Course, no',' said newsagent. Minutes later, my chum said, 'Many thanks for your hospitality. I best make a dash for the car park.'
