FOR the first time since the major landslide 21 months ago, mud and debris have landed on the A83 Rest and Be Thankful, estimated to weigh up to 300 tons ("A83 shut again as landslide causes chaos", The Herald, August 2).

I have visited the site. The latest slide started near the top of Glen Croe and was down a gully which exited close to the top traffic lights with stationary traffic waiting for the lights to change, with obvious safety worries.
