I WAS fortunate enough to attend the performance of the Marriage of Figaro this week in Perth Concert Hall.

It was truly a great performance by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and they should be very proud of the orchestra and of their singers. It emphasises the benefit of the closeness of the Conservatoire in Glasgow to Scottish Opera, the RSNO and BBS Symphony Orchestra and The National Theatre of Scotland.

This lesson needs to be taken by those discussing the location of a National Film Centre, because there is no doubt, it would benefit by being close to those other organisations. In other words it should be based in Glasgow. What is disappointing is the lack of any clear interest shown by the Glasgow MSPs and Glasgow City Council.
