Charles Kennedy, who has died aged 63, was a campaigning councillor whose dedication to his community was curbed only by a personal battle with cancer.
The leader of the campaign to save Glasgow's Stobhill Hospital, he also fought for the new facility to offer chemotherapy – never dreaming that he would one day need the treatment.
