A teacher convicted of assault and drink-driving has removed himself from the teaching register for two years.
Ian Thom, 55, who taught at Banchory Academy, was fined £150 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as he pled guilty to assaulting a boy last June. He was also fined £600 and banned for being more than double the drink-drive limit.
