STUDENT leaders have called for a review of immigration rules after The Herald revealed several Scottish colleges are facing a ban on the recruitment of foreign students.

NUS Scotland has written to Home Secretary Theresa May after it emerged that a number of Scotland's colleges have had their highly trusted sponsor status revoked.

The UK Border Agency's (UKBA) decision to downgrade the colleges means they will not be able to bring in any extra overseas students from April.
