Schools boss offers to help in PFI row

THE head of the body responsible for a £1 billion Scottish school building programme has offered to intervene in disputes over previous PFI contracts.

Barry White, chief executive officer of the Scottish Futures Trust, said the body could step in to resolve disagreements between councils and contractors.

The offer came at a meeting of the Scottish Parliament's education committee yesterday.
