NEARLY 300 teaching students at a Scottish university are to miss out on a two-week school placement after an admin error.

Glasgow University has apologised to 290 student teachers after cancelling their school observation visit, which was due to take place from next week.

The visits were organised for students to familiarise themselves with the working practices of the schools where they will undergo placements next month.
