THREE more colleges have agreed to merge under the Scottish Government's reform of the sector.

The boards of Clydebank, James Watt and Reid Kerr colleges will proceed to a full merger to create a single college for the west of Scotland further education region by August next year.

Michael Yuille, the new chairman for the West Region, said: "I am thrilled to have been asked to lead the regionalisation process in the West Region towards the creation of a new college to serve our students and communities. There is no doubt the next 12 months will be challenging as we continue to deliver high-quality education while creating the new college and all the opportunities that will bring."
