Whether you walk your dog, commute to work on foot, or scramble up inhospitable mountains, you should have your say in shaping a new 10-year vision for walking in Scotland

Ramblers Scotland is inviting Scots to complete a survey, sharing their thoughts on walking.

David Thomson, Convener of Ramblers Scotland said:

"At a time when land reform is back on the political agenda and Scotland's National Walking Strategy has recently been published, we are asking our members, and also members of the public who enjoy walking, to set out their thoughts on why walking is important. We'd like to know how we can make walking even more enjoyable for everyone in Scotland.

"Ramblers Scotland is the only organisation to represent the interests of all walkers, whether they are strolling around their local park, walking to the office, or standing at the top of Ben Nevis. We have a long and proud heritage as campaigners on access and countryside issues. But in 2015 it will be 10 years since the Scottish Parliament established world-beating access rights, and the walking public now mainly take access rights for granted."

He said the online survey had been launched as the first step in the process of developing a 10-year vision for Ramblers Scotland. "We want to speak to as many Scottish walkers as possible, to find out what's important to them. Their views will help shape our vision."
