MORE than one out of every four children in the UK grow up in families where there is a risk to their development, new research has found.

A new study by the University of London claims 28% of families face two or more "risk factors" such as financial hardship or parental instability.

The report, by the University's Institute of Education, identified 10 areas which they consider as posing a risk to a child's wellbeing.
