MOTORISTS faced delays at petrol pumps yesterday as environmental campaigners launched a protest against an oil firm's plans to drill in the Arctic.

Seven activists were detained by police in Edinburgh as Greenpeace targeted Shell petrol stations.

Some campaigners dressed in white polar bear suits tried to cut off supplies to the pumps in protest at Shell's plans for offshore drilling in the Arctic.
