POLICE are investigating complaints over a sinister Scottish Republican Army website which threatens violence to the 'captured' son of an MP if British troops do not leave Scotland.

The Facebook site, which had almost 400 likes before it was taken down, showed a picture of an unidentified youngster in a Rangers top with a knife held to his throat by a balaclava-clad man.

Accompanying the picture, the 'army' claimed that "one of our brave comrades managed to capture the son of a named English MP who was one of the staunchest Westminster fascists!"

The status called on the Prime Minister, renamed using an expletive, to immediately withdraw British troops from Scotland, or the MP "may receive a very special present in the post".

One comment said: "You all need some form of medical help."

Elsewhere there is a photographic exhortation to "kill The Queen".

One comment responded: "Happy to take yer dole money with her head on it. Knuckledraggin a...holes.

An 'army' logo, containing two balaclava-clad men with a machine gun, states: "Our aim is to force a British withdrawal from Scotland and establish a democratic and socialist republic free of imperial and fascist domination!"

Another status displays the picture of Lee Rigby, the British soldier who was hacked to death on a street in London last year by two Muslim converts with an expletive typewritten on his forehead.

It calls for the "immediate and unconditional release" of Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, who were jailed in May for a minimum of 45 years for the murder.

The 'army' said the pair did "bravely slay the Britbong imperialist Lee Rigby".

They added: "Remember comrades, the best Brit is a dead Brit! Cameron has 24 hours to release these courageous heroes, or we will take matters into our own hands!"

A Police Scotland spokeswoman who has been passed details of the content of the site, said: "The matter is currently being looked into."

An associated Facebook page, set up around midnight, yesterday also contained other inflammatory content. It stated: "Scotland is for Scots, plain and simple. F... the Queen and F... the British Zionist government."

It calls for the death of the Prime Minister, adding: "The SRA is coming for you."

One status said: "Today in a bar I went into a fight with a Brit. Guess what, he won't be moving for weeks."

Another said: "Lads, comrades, brothers in arms, we will free Scotland one day and p... on the grave of that hag who calls herself a Queen. God bless Scotland."
