Three air crew have died after two Tornado jets crashed in the Moray Firth.
The Tornado GR4s from RAF Lossiemouth came down south of Wick on Tuesday afternoon.
Lossiemouth station commander, Group Capt Ian Gale, confirmed the incident led to the deaths of three people.
Two of the four involved were airlifted to hospital but one later died. The survivor is in a serious but stable condition in Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
