Residents sue housing group over land scare

RESIDENTS of a housing scheme at the centre of a toxic land scare have launched legal proceedings against a social landlord.

Families living in and around the estate in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, are suing Lanarkshire Housing Association with a view to securing remediation of the land on which their homes are built.

Collins Solicitors, which represents 43 of the families, yesterday issued proceedings at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on behalf of Angela McManus and her husband Robert.
