GLASGOW'S Fastlink bus service will not be complete in time for the Commonwealth Games in 2014, despite earlier promises that the northern section of the £40 million project would be in place by then.

Glasgow City Council said "priority infrastructure" would be in place by 2014 but the service would be available to passengers the following year.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, overseeing Fastlink, had said the section, linking the city centre to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, would be in place for the Games.
