Motorists are facing disruption after a major arterial route was closed following a gas leak.

The road between Haudagain Roundabout and Persley Bridge in Aberdeen will be shut for two days, police said.

It was closed at around midnight due to the gas leak.

Local diversions have been put in place and pedestrians can still cross the bridge.

However motorists and commuters have been warned that they face disruption.

The road is one of the main routes between Bridge of Don and the north of Aberdeen.
