MEMBERS of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers [RMT] union who clean trains on the East Coast railway line between London and Scotland are on a 24-hour strike on Monday.

The action is by ISS workers who work on rolling stock that operates between Glasgow, Edinburgh and King's Cross.

The union said it was "outrageous" they had not been given a pay rise since 2011.

This was despite the state-owned East Coast having returned profits of £208 million to the taxpayer last year, the union stated.
