The law on airguns is long overdue for reform, the Justice Secretary has said.

Kenny MacAskill spoke after Holyrood was handed new powers as part of the Scotland Act.

With Scottish ministers now having responsibility for this area, Mr MacAskill restated his commitment to strengthening the law on air weapons. At the moment people do not require a licence to have an airgun.
