THE reforms proposed by Lord Carloway, including an end to the need for corroboration of evidence, could frame Scots Law "for decades to come" MSPs have been told.

Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill promised Parliament there would be a further public consultation in the New Year.

He said it had been 13 months since emergency legislation was introduced following the Cadder case which banned police interviewing suspects without a lawyer.
