GRANT Bradburn, the Scotland coach, wants his fast bowlers to prove they are also fast learners in today's rearranged New Zealand A match.
Bradburn will give Ali Evans and Iain Wardlaw a vote of confidence in the wake of last Friday's bruising 199-run defeat. The pair were bashed to all corners of Cambusdoon as Grant Elliott and BJ Watling scored centuries, but both will get the chance for revenge in a match switched from the Ayr venue to The Grange, Edinburgh, after Sunday's washout.
"The guys actually bowled pretty well at the start, and it was only in the last ten overs that we lost our discipline a bit and let it get away from us," said Bradburn. "Now they have a fantastic chance to show they are fast learners. We maybe need to take a bit more time in the last overs to think about our plans and to set fields for those plans. We are up against a really strong New Zealand side and I think Friday's game was a rude awakening as to where we need to be.
"But we welcome the chance to take them on again and show that we have learned a few lessons."
Calum MacLeod returns to captain the side in place of Matt Machan, who is back at Sussex. MacLeod will attempt to continue where he left off in his last Scotland match when he scored 145 against the Netherlands.
Somerset's Josh Davey is also likely to return but Preston Mommsen is still out with a broken finger.
