Peter Houston, the Falkirk manager, expects to be without Owain Tudur-Jones until the new year after the midfielder had knee surgery.

The Welshman was diagnosed with a torn lateral meniscus last week and an operation was be needed to repair the damage.

The 30-year-old is expected to return to light training in December but will not feature in the first team again until 2015. Jones missed four months following a similar operation in 2011 while with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

"Owain went in for his operation on Tuesday and that cleaned up the area around the knee," said Houston. "However, he'll be out for a while, a month at the very least. It's really disappointing for Owain."
