Queen of the South player/manager James Fowler has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the end of next season.
The midfielder took over from Jim McIntyre last September and has led the Doonhamers into a Championship play-off place.
The 34-year-old initially moved to Palmerston as a player/coach last summer following 17 years at Kilmarnock. Despite Saturday's 2-0 defeat at champions Hearts, Queens remain in fourth spot one point clear of Falkirk.
Fowler said: "I'm really happy to sign again, it's been an enjoyable year although very difficult and hard work, but it's one I've enjoyed and I'm thankful to the chairman Billy Hewitson and the rest of the board for the opportunity. I'm loving the job although I still find leaving players out hard. and I don't know if that gets easier.
"But I've had great support from a great bunch of players and the board and we've got a great group of supporters who back the team every week, so it's good to have that as well. We're still pushing for the top four so if we can now get players sorted there is no excuses of distractions or things going on elsewhere, so I'm glad to get it done. We'll get on with sorting out players now and we'll stay focused for the top four finish - as well as looking forward to next year."
